Hello Syn listeners!

 

Today I am at the RMIT design market, which is already causing hype over the Retail Activation District and is set to launch in September. 

​

Today's event has been made available for students and alumni alike to showcase their businesses or sell products from their own entrepreneurial ventures.

​

Today I am here with Mary who is one of the creative students here today selling a product. 

​

1. What are you studying?  Over the last two years I have been undertaking a bachelor degree in design and development. 

2. What product are you selling today? Since I have a love of all things summer, I have developed a line of swimwear for men and women of all shapes and sizes. 

3. Can you describe one of your products for me? This is a two piece matching bikini set - the colour is an emerald green with a black banding. The bottoms are high wasted and the top is strapless. 

4. It's definitely a lovely piece! Do you believe this pop-up store will help develop your career? I mean, this is event is awesome. It gives past and present students, like myself a chance to test our products in a commercial market place. In my case I am getting direct exposure to my target market, my peers. 

5. Are you excited for the Retail Activation District? 

Of course! It's going to be a hub for anyone on campus. 

6. What do you mean?

The Retail Activation District is going to offer a unique range of urban food beverages and services. Not to mention, there's a pop-up feature, like today- which will allow students, alumni and industry partners an opportunity to offer new products and services. It will give people like me, a chance to show off their stuff! 

7. Wow! What else can you tell us about Retail Activation District?

Well, I know that there will be 10 shops, which will be operating during all times of the day. RMIT students and staff will be able to pop down for breakfast until evening. It will act as an extension to the CBD.

It will definitely be making a lot of students happy!
